Starfleet Museum WIP - Swordfish Carrier
« on: August 06, 2010, 10:45:45 PM »
Planning on doing some ships from Masao Okazaki's Starfleet Museum.  Here is my first one, the Quetzlcoatl-class semidreadnought from the early 23rd Century, launched 2215:

:yay:   SWEET!!!  Was hoping you'd take a crack at a few of those!  Are you planning on doing the UESN ships as well?  Or any of the Rom and Klingon ships?

Whoa, creepy... I have some almost-finished Avenger, Paris and Torsk classes I've been toying with... Mesh looks very slick!

I just might barf...

Ugh, I never was much of a fan of these pre-TOS, pre-Ent, pre-XI fan ships.

Isn't that more of a personal opinion than constructive criticism? :P
"To live on as we have is to leave behind joy, and love, and companionship, because we know it to be transitory, of the moment. We know it will turn to ash. Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love is eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received."

True.  It's a great model, looks clean and simple.  A Kelvin-ified version would look better in my opinion, but then it wouldn't be an SFM design.

hm, do I smell a Daedalus in there, somewhere?  i'd like to see one set up with NX or Kelvin style weapons.  i had an idea for a Kelvinized Daed at one point.

You know it's funny that you should mention a NX style Daed King.  Because the image below is my current desktop, and given Gs work on the Conestoga I think he could pull her off nicely.

Farshot Not Cool Man...G has really put a lot of work into original non-Connie TOS designs and should be given some credit for that.  True some of the pre-TOS designs weren't pretty but they still make up the, non-canon albeit, history of the franchise we all care enough about to be talking about in a forum.

Anyways, here's the picture of the Daed.

Farshot - that's ok, I'll ask the cabin cleaning crew to stock some extra barf bags on board for you just in case.

Villain - I am planning to do the Avenger, Predator and Paris-classes as well.

DMWalsh79 - That Daedalus reminds me of the Icarus-class I did, but I would like to take a crack at this one.

I thought the same thing when I saw it.  Looking forward to your take on the Daedalus.  The Paris should be interesting since that was the basis for the Archer class.  Should be interesting to see those big ole honkin' cannons under her nose.

Yea I like those nose cannons too.  Planning on doing the Lancaster also.

I'll do that Daedalus next,  two ships, how does the USS Walsh and the USS King sound?

well USS Walsh does have a nice ring to it IMHO.  Haven't done enough posts to cookie you yet but I am giving this overall idea of SFM a virtual cookie at least.
