Century texture problem
« on: February 15, 2010, 08:31:49 PM »
Hey all.

This problem has been addressed before, I am sure. However, I may have a new problem with the original problem...

After making a registry using the Century class blanks included in the Enterprise-F download, I encountered the problem seen in the pic below.

Now, the solution should be to remove the alpha channels for each texture in photoshop. I did this, and the problem still exists. I even tried blacking out the alpha channel, and the problem is still there. I'm very curious as to what's causing this, any suggestions would help.

Actually, that typically causes the problem. You need an alpha channel in a _glow texture, or this happens.

If I leave the alpha, the problem still exists (just tried it to make sure); if I remove it, it still exists...seems impassable. >_>

Are you sure you're saving them as 32 bit targas?

Zing! That's probably the problem. I'll remake them and save them as 32-bit, try it out. Thanks.

this is the problem I had with Dave975's take on a Romulanized D7.  I've known people to overcompensate, and delete the alpha channel from the model itself.

Well I do have MilkShape somewhere on my drive. I'll have to try that.

No stang, I don't think that was a suggestion, he was giving an example of an overkill solution.  why don't you try making the textures again, you probably corrupted the alpha channel.

Are you renaming the textures or using the original names? I cannot find any problem with your method of exporting the textures, or the psd file itself.

I am renaming them from "h1_glow", "h2_glow", etc to new names and using SDT scripts.

But are you adding the "AngelwingsB_" part? That may be your problem, having two underscores.

Didn't work. I took out the underscore after "AngelwingsB" and it did nothing (edited the script, too).
