In what way does it crash?

Also, try installing to somewhere other than Program Files (say: C:\Games\).

Lastly, try searching (on these forums) for other Vista related problems, you may find an answer there (considering you know your situation the best, and I still lack the ability to read minds).
I still can't read peoples minds, nor can I read peoples computers, even worse, I can't combine the two to read what is going wrong with your BC install...

For shame! :arms:

Anywho, this is odd. I have never, ever had a problem installing BC on my Vista machine. Ever. :/

It doesn't matter if you never had problems with something (like, never had a computer crash on you, even if you were using a computer clogged with dust on a day where the sun is directly on your case with a scorching 40degree celcius, others will have problems).

@Mauiman: Did you try what I suggested? Considering Strubdog hasn't replied since, I wouldn't put it beyond the possibility that it helped.
