Here's another variant I built this afternoon.  I haven't done textures for it yet, so it still says USS Tucker and there are some areas that need maps.  I see it as playing a scout/destroyer/support role.  Speedy and light.  Other than the absence of the secondary hull, the nacelles are longer and the deflector dish is now built into the pod.  I'm still going to modify the pod to carry some weapons.

Despite some kitbashing, the mesh is all one piece.

Very nice!

Kind of a Centaur/Nebula hybrid IMO.

Eloi, I love them all, beautiful work.

In response to reply 97; And Hobbs, the best part of all this is actually seeing your improvements one model at a time.  :)

Kind of a Centaur/Nebula hybrid IMO.

post-nemesis ship with a mid-TNG look, as the centaur appears in DS9 with a post-TMP look.
or mid-TNG multi-purpose light cruiser

not the ship you would send to the most unstable area of the galaxy, or the biggest uncharted sector, but rather a good interstellar transport/patrol/research/medical vessel.

I'd love to test this against a galor or a ferengi ship :P

Eloi, if i were you id add windows to the dorsal side of the saucer, that may help explain the ships deck height and the reason for the semi-bulbous saucer.
That and it'll make it look a little less bland, IMO

Love these. Wouldn't the pod in the way of the shuttlebay on the smaller ship?

You could probably name the "Centaur" version the USS Olson since he was the alternate reality chief engineer of the JJ-prise serving under Pike before Kirk found Scotty. (NCC prefix of your choosing of course).

One of the reasons these ships look so pretty is the render quality.  I agree that they're of exceptional quality anyway, but quality renders can make any mesh look sexy.  Don't take this as a sleight, Eloi.  I'm just pointing out that rendering ability does make a great bit of difference in presentation.

Very true!  In fact, without the advanced lighting the ship's overall appearance suffers significantly, as you can see below.
