You got this, I believe in you!  (Takes me a whole year to make one ship.)

Binding and gagging kids works wonders if you want to get work done.

Interesting design so far. I look forward to it and seeing if you can complete your challenge.

This looks like a nice ship, MAYBE you should start taking challenges from people, or asking for designs to work on that are interesting?

Certainly not moving as fast as I would like.   :hithead:

Here's what I've got so far.  It is a bit Intrepidish, so I put the nacelles below the belt line.  The nacelles are a bit of a cheat, as they are partially derived from some mesh I built for that ship with the interior.  Heavily modified and added on, though.

I also rebuilt the saucer section, pushed back the deflector area, and shortened the ship's length overall, especially in the front half.

Right now the change I'm considering most is whether to go with a more traditional style of impulse engines.  Thoughts?

This is probably now my favourite of your recent work, DJ, my only suggestion might be to trim the nacelle pylons in so the nacelles lie closer to the hull, inside the wake of the Saucer. It may lead to Bussard collector line-of-sight clearance issues, I'm not sure, but it'd make the design flow just a little better, imo. Superb work as always.

Never been a fan of Intrepidish ships but this one has real potential.  Hope you can pull this off DJ!

Time-wise, this is not looking good.

However, mesh-wise, I think it's looking not half-bad.  I'm going to add a few more things and call the mesh finished, so if you guys have any additional suggestions, get them in fast.

Bren, as per your suggestion I brought the nacelles in tighter to the hull.  I also decreased the amount of forward sweep the pylons had going on.

Other major changes include:

-gave the ship more conventional impulse engines
-added phasers and torp launchers
-added bridge
-detailed undercut
-moved the deflector back even further

Should have some textures on it in the next update.  Funny thing is, when I started this ship, I really didn't intend for it to look Intrepidish at all.  I guess thinking outside the box is not my specialty.

Is it just me or could she do with some Venture type phasers on her nacelles as well.

While not a bad idea, I think I'll hold that for a possible refit.  I don't want the ship to appear over-armed.

If she's a science, research, or pure exploration vessel, then yeah, there's such a thing as being overarmed.

Looking real nice DJ.

I have 2 suggestions:

-  I think the aft part of the saucer sections' outer edges are a bit too sharp... maybe rounding them off might make it look more flowing.

- I would go for a more Sovereign-like impulse engine design that's angled forward... obviously not exactly like the Sov. Maybe a hybrid of different styles.

It looks like a duck squating lol!!!  Perhaps call it the Malard class?  :D

This is epic considering the time frame you took to build it.   :)

BTW, IMO, I think it so far looks like a combination of the Intrepid and Luna classes... with a bit of its own uniqueness mixed in.
