Model Property Editor Crash
« on: November 25, 2010, 08:09:24 PM »
Please help, i am a newb in a tough situation, i asked a question, it was the thread "py files" now i have MPE, and every time i load a ship script, the darn App crashes for absolutely no good reason, almost as if it has a grudge on me. at first i thought it was a problem with the directory, but i got both right, now i don't know what to do, all help is greately appreciated.

sorry for this newbiness, i'm not very good when it comes to 'stubborn programs'  :hithead:

first, welcome.

second.   to keep MPE from crashing like that, you have to load the CORRECT py.  I still make this goof, myself.  there are two scripts with the exact same name, usually. the "ship" script (which tells the game that a ship exists), and the actuall ship's hardpoint

the one you want will usually be in Scripts ->Ships ->hardpoints.  the one in straight scripts/ships is the "ship" script, not the one you wanna use.

someone should be along shortly to give a better explination.

may I ask what OS you are running?
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

So let me see if I get this right, you load up a nif file then as soon as you load the py script the app crashes?

Is your goal to tweak the HP, change strength of some weapons etc?
