Trying to get a feel for modeling an acceptable BC ship
« on: March 01, 2010, 05:26:02 PM »
Hi,

I'm a newbie to BCC and I have read through the forums and searched for anything related to ship modeling.  I came across a post that said any kind of modeling done with objects that have been sculpted and then thrown together is not acceptable to BC.  How else can you model and what is a unified mesh.  I don't understand if it is saying you have to take a shape and manipulate everything else from that one shape lol.

Unified meshes is prefered, but you can get away with a set of primatives combined.

I belive it is a damage issue the more parts you have.

Also if you align your seems as best you can you can weld the parts together and create a unified mesh.
Whatever knocks us back, can only make us stronger.
