Certain ships don't show up
« on: August 23, 2009, 11:38:53 PM »
I'm having trouble with some ships, namely the Freedom class and Zahl (voy year of hell), I have others but I DLed them a while back and forgot which ones they were. Anyways the issue I'm having is that I install them like every other ship (extract to new folder, and move files to the right folders in BC) and they don't show up in game at all, not it the selection or anywhere what am I doing wrong

You'll need to create a custom ship plugin with BCUT.

"To live on as we have is to leave behind joy, and love, and companionship, because we know it to be transitory, of the moment. We know it will turn to ash. Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love is eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received."

Run BCUT
Say yes to autoconfigure prompt
On Basic BCSMC under Ship filename locate your ship and select it

I have done all the above, downloaded BCUT, installed Foundation and generated plugins using ship names but the ships are not appearing anywhere. I've done it on 3 different ships now but none appear ingame, what am I doing wrong??

Go to options and check if your Bridge Commander folder is selected. If it isn't click on "Automatic".
Then in BCSMC click on the dropdown button to the right of Ship Filename, locate the ship (don't just type in a name) and generate the plugin.

In case that doesn't work please post links to the ships you want to install.

Im pretty sure thats not the problem teleguy.

The plugins are created in the scripts/custom folder in the BCUT directory. You have to move the new plugin into the scripts/custom folder in the bc directory.

The plugins are created in the scripts/custom folder in the BCUT directory. You have to move the new plugin into the scripts/custom folder in the bc directory.
If he selects his Bridge Commander folder like I suggested the plugins would be created in Bridge Commander\scripts\custom\ships  and he would not have to move them every time.

Alot more convenient, isn't it?
