Buying Bridge Commander
« on: May 07, 2009, 02:30:40 AM »
Hi, I've been looking online for a copy of Bridge Commander and I was wondering if anyone here knows where to get one.  Amazon.com has some but they're $98.  Are there any cheaper? lol.

I got a second copy off eBay, it was in the 3D kit, but I only wanted the disk, I don't even have a nividia graphics card, which is what the 3D kit works with.

I was fortunate to pick one up in a store a ways back and noticing it's rarity from these forums I made a full copy of it. Which is good, since I accidentally crushed my old one :(.

If you do snag a copy, I highly recommend you do the same.

a quick Google Search under "Shopping" yielded this result...
pre-owned, but $39.99 http://uacgames.com/1021279.aspx

there are deals out there, especially if you dont mind buying a pre-owned one, you just have to search and look around...

Hmm, I guess I wouldn't mind buying a used copy.  Making a back up disk would be a good idea too.  Thanks for the pointers everyone.  I'm sure I'll be playing in no time.

Pre-owned and "imported?" Yeah right. It looks more like a bootleg to me. Stick with eBay.

Well I got one through Classic PC Gamer but now after installing it, I open it to play but it just sits on a black screen.

Black screens can be fixed, read the black screen sticky of Technical Support and create a thread with the console report.

It's not working.  I type ` and it does nothing.  I type ` and hit Enter and it does nothing.  I opened test mode using the TestMode.bat way.

Create a thread and I'll help there.

The __init__.py method should work.

I bought mine and legally owning a copy I made 3 Disks of it. XD So I just leave my regular in the case and don't touch it for just the 'incase' moments.

If you are playing on Windows Vista, you need to move the folder somewhere out of the program files directory. I use C:/Activision as my root directory. It solved the black screen of death at least for me.
