Can't wait to see what your models will be like in another few more months, I think Wiley ought to be worried.
I beg to differ.  :D(see attached pic) It's nice to see Baz1701's skill improving.

Please note that my Kelvin model is a personal project and is not meant for gaming.

Spoil sport. Now post in your WIP thread so we can talk about it more. xD

Doesn't belong there, it's not for gaming as he said. ;)  Looking good on all counts from both baz and Wiley, though personally Baz, I wish you wouldn't give up on the Narada.  The only thing you really need to do is shrink the spherical parts and throw in some more random spines. :P

I do have some slight nitpicks. The base of the bridge should be shaped differently. The extra bits on the nacelles should be curved and not squared off. Also, the upper nacelle covering has that exterior lip. It is definitely looking better compared to previous versions.

Since we are both working on the same project, maybe we should combine our efforts to make the JJ-prise awesome.

The bridge is off the mk4 and will be replaced just for effect.

The nacelles are a WIP, still alot to tweak. I have a nasty mesh error on the lower part to sort out.

Happy to, PM me with what you have in mind.

Don't be afraid to add detail. If your model is around 20-25k polys you are still good. Using Vertex Weld will help remove some mesh errors, but not all and it will help clean some booleaned edges. If you had the plastic model that came with the 2-desk set, modeling the overall ship might be easier. I've also included a download link to screencaps from the StarFleet Vessel Simulator of the JJprise. These should give you an idea of how the ship should be textured and modeled.

I have a sketch from the book that I found a week or so ago. I could remove this post if it breaks any copyrights.

That is a really neat shot of the innards of the collectors.

Those images from the Starship Simulator are probably the absolute best you're going to get unless they make a book or release the schematics.

Fins are only slightly too tall with that dramatic curve at the front and you need the half-sphere in the exhaust cone at the back.  That's all the nitpicking I think I can do, that is one gorgeous nacelle.  Scotty'd be proud. ;)

Hey Baz, if your model ends up being really accurate, I may be able to help out with textures.

I agree with Shadowknight1 about the fins, and the 'scoop' underneath seems a little to deep judging by the poster on my wall. But other than that, it's spot on :)

Now that we have an official size, will this version be scaled correctly?

it will be scaled the same size as the TOS/TMP connie. I can not bring myself to overscale as "canon". It would make the saucer windows over 10 feet tall and 30 feet wide. Just crazy.
