tried the new nacelle on the mk4 in game and it looks good.

Warp warm up does not work with IFL's

Also I have lost the glow maps after exporting from max 3?

Can some one confirm correct max 3 export settings?

Woow, that is such agressive Constitution. She will destroy everything on her way ;) I like the Connie. And Baz I cant help you for the glows because I work on Rhino 3D and Milkshape 3D and I dont know anything about 3DS max.

Well thi is just a test using the mark 4, the new mark 5 will use these nacelles and little else.

That nacelle looks great, though I do have one small nitpick with the vents on the underside.  You have them shaped as triangles when they should be long, thin trapezoids.  See the attachment to know what I mean.  Beyond that, that is a superb warp nacelle, I can't wait to see the rest of the ship attached to it. ;)

Can't quite tell from your screenshots, but the 'fins' should be tapered slightly, being wider at the bottom (where they connect to the nacelle) than the top edge.

Edit: I'm rubbish at explaining things, heres some pics of what i mean.

Instead of trying to swap the animation textures, could you swap the texture behind it? This way the bussards would spin when at impulse but not have a glow behind them and as you go to warp the texture behind switches to one which glows providing lit bussards.

Good idea Genty, now If I can figure out how to export the ship from max 3 so the specs and glows work I'd be sorted.

I know that works fine for me too. The trouble is the max 9 exporter does not support IFL animated textures.

Try unticking all the specular level and self illumination parts for each of the textures leaving the diffuse color part ticked (leaving the opacity ticked for the animated texture) and try exporting it then. I've had a similar problem and by playing around with what is ticked for each texture got it to eventually work. It's mainly a matter of finding the right combination.

I think you need to bring the neck forward a bit, as it is, the saucer seems a bit too far back.

She's really starting to come together.

She looks great, but for the sake of accuracy, I did a little comparison shot of the ILM released image.

I think it's safe to say, that after this model is finshed, modeling the JJprise from others will stop. This will be the CG sovy of the JJvirse. Cookie
