Awesome! Had any weapon loadouts for this in mind? I could never make out if it actually had torpedoes in the film, even though captain Robau did give the command to fire them....

It didn't have torps, nor did Robau order any to be fired.  He said "Fire weapons!" before the Narada's torpedoes hit, then after said, "Fire all phasers!"

Which was absolutely HILARIOUS! Shortly thereafter, someone said weapons were offline...then it cut to a scene outside and the ship was CLEARLY firing a shit-ton of phasers and pulse weapon things... xD

In any case, I'm pretty certain the Kelvin had no torpedo launchers.

OH! Right sorry  :hide I'm probably just mistaking it for someone that was shouting about the Narada's torpedoes, my mistake.

LOL I know is does, I was wondering the best way to make it look like that. The texture is from Tobias's Kelvin. My effort is below.

if there's a way to alter it similar to the skin above (which looks like some random splotches and a sepia toning over the standard skin), pounce on it.  i play with most of the functions to find out what's going on and what works.

I've no idea how that was done, but I did have a play around with that texture and this is what I came up with. It's very convoluted but i've tried to put together all the values I used for it.

Each layer starts with a copy of the original image unless noted, this was done in photoshop.

Background
Original image

Layer 1
Menu-Filter-Brush Strokes-Accented Edges
Edge Width 5
Edge Brightness 8
Smoothness 3
Blend Mode-Linear Burn
Opacity 15

Layer 2
Menu-Filter-Other-
High Pass 10
Blend Mode-Normal
Opacity 5

Layer 3 (This gives it a splotchy look)
Background copied to new file
Menu-Filter-Texture-Grain
Grain Type-Contrasty
Intensity 67
Contrast 13
Image size increased to 500% then canvas size reduced to 20%
Converted to Grayscale then back to RGB
Copied as new layer in original file
Blend Mode-Pin Light
Opacity 35

Layer 4
Random slotches done in black
Blur is applied
Blend Mode-Normal
Opacity 30

Layer 5
Covered in colour #a59f8f
Blend Mode-Normal
Opacity 50
