considering markys attention to detail (wich some of us lack *cough* CyAn1d3  ) and the fact that this is based off of Saquists project "the accurate defiant", im under the assumption its going to be as accurate as humanly possible.

As accurate as it may look in the renders, this is not supposed to be 100% accurate, and is no reflection on Saquists project, I do though appreciate the positive comments so thanks CyAn1d3.

Thats correct old buddy, Im going to map to a singular 2048 sheet  

So the Defiant mesh is now as far as I am going to take her i reckon, I really want to start on the textures so spent today adjusting some smoothing groups, and adding in some final pieces. I also managed to cut a few more polies and she is now sitting on the fat end of 9800 polies, so that should keep Jimmy satisfied      LOL

Bravo with modeling the Warp Engine Vent meshes.  About time.
With alphas smartly lighting up the interior it should give the Defiant a very Dynamic look just like the lit model.
