forgive me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember any problems with the original release.

I think he may be reffering to (And I quote)

KNOWN BUGS

Speculars are incompatible with NanoFx 2.

Slight "mesh-shimmer" effects on main phasers in low resolutions.

From the readme on BCF...

oh, I didn't think that those were big issues, the Speculars can work if you disable the Fix Bright Glow bug button in NanoFX configs.  As mentioned in the readme the "phaser shimmer" is not an issue at higher resolutions.

I'm not sure if the spec highlights are the same for this as others, as the 'Bright glow fix' applies to all speculars...

Why would Scotchy say they're not compatible?

Why would Scotchy say they're not compatible?
Because he couldn't get them to work properly with NanoFX?

There is one bug, atleast, SNS Galaxy uncovered it, but it has to do with NanoFXv2Beta and with blinkers, for which we don't have a fix yet.
I still can't read peoples minds, nor can I read peoples computers, even worse, I can't combine the two to read what is going wrong with your BC install...

In this case, you can do one of 3 things.

1. Turn off 'Bright Glow Fix' as mentioned by ACES_HIGH

2. Get the Scotchy Galaxy pack and install Psychos Texture Upgrade for it.

3. Get the DJ Galaxy pack. It has working speculars and is a welcome upgrade in my opinion. Don't forget the sound plugin patch by yours truely,  :D

Can't wait for 2014 to start.
