Need to be a bit more specific than that. Can you post the links to what isn't showing up?
All hail the messiah!

Some ships need a plugin created for them. Download BCSMC and it's patch.

Do some of the mods work? If they do, then the ships you're installing probably doesn't have a nifty thing called a plugin which makes the ships work in-game. Heres a link to something that can create plugins for you. http://bridgecommander.filefront.com/file/;91634

ok makes sense so how do i go about making a plugin file for these ships. Mind you 1 or 2 of these ships are installed either with bcmi or bcsmc and they don't appear. I tend to install the easy ships that only require me to press the mouse twice. But even with the bcsmc and bcmi ones i can not get them to appear in the QB menu.

BCMI and BCMP are old. They are both dangerous to current BC standards. BCSMC is really simple. You'll probably see something like this when you open it up:

                                   Ship py filename
(First) Locate (this is a button)
                                   Icon Name
(Second) Locate (same as the other button)

[] Submenu   [] CWS 2.0   [] SDT   [] Multi Plugins.

If you wish to make a very simple plugin, keep all of this unchecked/ticked/whatever. They are at the bottom of the BCSMC main menu.

Now, press the first locate button. A menu should pop up with the folders in the Bridge Commander Root directory. If you don't understand that, you should see folders called "Data", "Scripts" and "sfx". They're probably only the crucial ones to notice. For the this case, open up the "scripts" folder. More folders will appear. Go to "ships". Lots of other files will pop up, things like "Warbird.py" or "Sovereign.py". Only focus on the ".py" bit.

Lets say that the ship you want to make a plugin for is called "Blibble". Look around the "ships" folder until you find "Blibble.py". Select it and then press "Open". Thats the script bit done.

For the Icon (which appears ingame), click on the second locate button on the BCSMC main menu. Go to "data". Then go to "Icons". Then "ships" (will look like data/Icons/ships as a command prompt thing). You will see these things called ".tga". That stands for "Targa", a type of texture used in Bridge Commander. Look around for "Blibble.tga" and then select it. Then press "open". And thats the Data bit done.

The next bit on the BCSMC main menu is:

Ship name:
[________]

Menu Group:
[________[>]]

Ship description:
[_________]

Now, click in "Ship name". This is a text box which you can write in. If you type something in, this is how it will come up in BC. Type in "Blibble".

Now go to "Menu Group". There is an arrow. Click on it and a drop down menu pops up. Lets say that the "Blibble" is a Federation Ship or "Fed Ships". Click on "Fed Ships".

Now go to "Ship Description". In most cases, this doesn't need to be filled in so the rest of this paragraph is optional. Type in "The USS Blibble". Thats done.

Click "Create Ship plugin" right at the bottom of the Menu. When it says "Create ship plugin?", click yes. Then it'll make a noise of some sort and say that "A plugin was succesfully created in C:\Program Files\Activison\Bridge Commander\scripts\Custom\Ships". Click OK.

Go play BC, click on Quick Battle, go to Quick Battle Setup on Saffis menu, go to Federation ships and find "Blibble"! Then you get to play that ship!

From the last reply by the Original Topic Poster, he needs to install the Foundation (comes with BCSMC).
So I would suggest that before trying to create plugins.

There is, it's called the FAQ sticky. ;)
I still can't read peoples minds, nor can I read peoples computers, even worse, I can't combine the two to read what is going wrong with your BC install...
