Simply glorious, though I'm not sure about the big easter egg in the middle... is it Cadbury's?

Well Bren, there has to be something in the center to attach the tentacle blades to, and we don't have much reference on the Narada.  The mere fact that Wiley's attempting this monstrosity is amazing.

Im curious, how strong will it be, because i know in Star trek Countdown 4 (minor spoilers ahead) that the whole fleet of Klingon ships couldnt even damage it's shields, now will you have it be that strong, or what were you thinking?

(extra spoilers: a fleet of 24/5th century Birds of Prey, at that.)

As for the Easter Egg thing, I was rather tired posting that, and very amused by the thought of a tasty surprise under the Borgulan Blades Of Death.

I agree there needs to be something to attach them to, and that it would be pointless to bury a model of the original Narada in there, as it would never be seen.

I cannot wait to see what you do with the texture. It already looks inspiring.

I've tried everything I can think of and the Narada ship doesn't appear correctly ingame or not at all(crashes).  When I do get it ingame, all I see are the small spikes and the central main aft tentacle.....well...Crap. :?

probably too many individual components.  bc always prefers a unified mesh.

it just seems that with this ship there may be a particularly high number of independent objects because of all the spikes etc.

I did a new version, this time just the plain spikey version, and probooleaned it all together.  It looks perfect in MPE, but when it's ingame, bits of the front of the ship have disappeared.  It looks similar to when the ship takes damage, but I have not went into battle yet.

A spikey pine cone that is having the hardest time trying to get ingame.

EDIT: I'm putting the Narada ship on hold until more reference is available and when I get enough courage to build it again.

Thanks for the offer, I'll probably send it to you for fixing.  Here's a render of the spikey Narada with no tentacles.  I also put a basic texture on it, because we don't truly know what it looks like.

Throw a few bits of blue in there and I think you'll have it.  I think the model will look fine that way. :)

Now I know you said you don't need reference, but you also said no-one knows what it truly looks like but I'm convinced on the top right spike (the really really really really fat one) that it has green lights going down in strips. Like:

Black Green Black Green Black Green
"To live on as we have is to leave behind joy, and love, and companionship, because we know it to be transitory, of the moment. We know it will turn to ash. Only those whose lives are brief can imagine that love is eternal. You should embrace that remarkable illusion. It may be the greatest gift your race has ever received."

very nice work! for the painting, the film starts in a month. Then, at the latest, we
will know how the painting looks like :)
