That happened because I used one of the filters on photoshop so that the hull shows through and was pleased with its look. I will certainly call you if I need to port it ;)

Blue?  hehe.
As for the shape, you should have a blue outline glow and a big inner part like on voyager.

Something unique to match the ship, perhaps like the Yamato B a nice off white color but with thin red stripes through it or blue stripes to give a more advanced feel and a sense of power.
