How to host a multiplayer game
« on: August 13, 2008, 11:44:19 AM »
I've got the following problem. If i want to host a multiplayer game in Bridge Commander, nobody can see my game.
I already tried activating ports in my router, but nothing changed :(
Can anybody tell me, what to do?

I've always had the same problem.
I've tried forwarding ports, disabling my firewall, setting a static IP, loads of things.
The only thing I had any success with was Hamachi, but that's only good if you want to play with a select group of people.
Build a game and people will be happy for a few years. Build a community... Well, look at BC. :D
Here's to another 20 years!

hamachi, thx, that's a good idea :D
Although, it would be nice to host a real internet game, which is open to all people.

tried seeing if the Filter TCP/IP option of your local connection is enabled? if so, you should add the ports you opened in your router.
some routers have an option to open a hole in the firewall, so others can see a specific IP behind the router.

the filter was deactivated, so that was not the problem.
However, thanks for the advice.
