What does point defence do?
« on: June 20, 2008, 09:28:42 AM »
In KM there is something called point defence. Does anyone know what it does?

Having a smoking section in a restaurant is kinda like having a peeing section in a pool...

I've found that it's not as useful as it sounds and that you'll miss more torpedoes be evasive flying than point defense.

the trick is not to shoot your phasers while in point defense mode. great for ships with beeam, pulse and torpedo weapons. ;)

it only works with the sov and the nebula classes.... its great against torp boats or when you are in a fleet. you can protect your friends but you have to time your weapons fire well so as to not destroy ally torps.
Canon is what people argue exists on ships that don't exist.

I've always considered that a drawback since you're ability to use PD
is limited to two starships.

Don't forget the Pheonix and the USSLennox (according to the PD script).
Though I believe both are Nebula class ships (variants anyway)?
I still can't read peoples minds, nor can I read peoples computers, even worse, I can't combine the two to read what is going wrong with your BC install...
