Thanks Jb06.  Here is the patch for other people to try out.  KM1.0 ONLY!!

This should not break any MP compatibility or anything like that since the changes are only asthetic.  However because a load more emitters are now being generated it is going to run slower(I cannot judge how much slower because i've recently attached 4 monitors to my computer and am running about 20 other apps at the same time as BC lol)

http://www.sendspace.com/file/401ez7 (it goes in \scripts\Custom\QBautostart\Libs)

Good Luck!  Hope you like it!  Can we please have reports and suggestions on how to improve the patch.  Sadly I cannot find a way to widen the particle trails as they seem to be hardcoded into the engine. (understandably lol)

I would also like it to be noted that the first time I wrote this script it was pretty bad and rushed.  I have only made it worse by hacking up what I've already done and adding coefficients here and there.  Not good practice at all....

I go to america for a week and miss the release of 1.0?!? My timing sucks! (So does my gambling luck but thats besides the point LOL)

Downloading now. Weird. Im using a 10mb braodband connection and it is still going to take 3+ hours. Dang it!
Can't wait for 2014 to start.

I just recently installed KM1.  and I reconfigured the ships up, down, left, right, over to the number pad.
well it seems without the Thrusters Mutator on, (I'm going at impulse 9, but when I try to turn or go up or down , my impulse gos down to 3, but when I reactivate the 'thruster mutator , that does not happen, go figure.
